In the United States there are many diseases that commonly happen to attack mostly to women than men. For certain diseases will commonly attack postpartum women. It is not yet hundred percent cleared why this phenomena happens. But until now scientists are still studying the cases.
There are 5% of postpartum women suffer from Hypothyroidism. Before they are positive suffer from this disease, their thyroid might go back to normal or progress into this disease in the long term permanently, which is related with postpartum thyroiditis.
This thyroiditis is potential to damage thyroid hormone. Besides for postpartum women, this disease also occurs if a person has been through an operation or the existence of tumor in the brain. In this pituitary area, is the place where it should stimulate the body to produce thyroid hormone, but because of the tumor and after surgery process, the entire job is not done properly, and the person suffers from thyroid disorder.
This disease is also happen because of inheritance factor. Other factor that could trigger the lack of thyroid hormone is the Hashimoto Thyroiditis that make autoimmune, which means they destroy the thyroid hormone because they identified it as enemy.
These are symptoms of hypotheroidism that mostly happen: dry skin, hair loss, muscle and join pain, cold intolerance, weakness, loss of energy, depression, trouble to remember, difficult to concentrate, fatigue, and constipation.
